A brand new roastery in Erie, Pennsylvania approached Soul&Story to help them develop a brand they could confidently introduce to the market. We blended their passion for coffee and love for their All-American hometown to create a totally unique brand that would win the hearts of locals and beyond.

Forty years ago, Anita Marcoline set out to start a coffee roasting business in Erie, PA.
It didn’t take long for her to realize startup costs for this sort of operation weren’t cheap. Instead of quitting on her dream, Anita built a completely separate business with hopes of eventually funding her roasting. With hard work, patience, and dedication, North Edge Craft Coffee has finally come to fruition. Anita approached Soul&Story to help establish her business in the Erie market.
Anita’s story blew us away. In a city built by dedicated industrial workers, we knew her audience would identify with the character of her brand. So we developed messaging that connected North Edge to the Erie community.
We paired the messaging with visuals to match: industrial era typefaces, a color palette inspired by Erie, and vintage postcards that illustrate the city’s past.
